    Job Summary

    This position will direct strategic planning, Capture Management, and proposal development services to coordinate for the newly formed Center for Proposal Development and help lead UT Arlington HSI/MSI specific opportunities, training grants, and large center / program grants for humanities/Non-STEM. Responsible for identifying and communicating funding opportunities/sponsors to internal and external stakeholders; providing editing, critical review, and/or writing support; and coordinating proposal teams to secure public and private extramural funding or prestigious awards/recognition's.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Facilitate institution-level multi- and interdisciplinary research teams in pursuit of high dollar, multi-investigator, highly focused extramural funding opportunities and stimulate research through strategic partnerships aligned with institutional priorities/initiatives. Specifically lead large opportunities that support UTA's MSI/HSI status.
    2. Work with institutional leaders and their collaborators to translate early ideas and concepts into competitive narratives for extramural funding and advise on strategies for meeting broader impacts, data management, and similar requirements.
    3. Engage with external partners to develop research collaborations and serve as a liaison to sponsor organizations (federal/state government, private foundations, and companies).
    4. Conduct market intelligence to identify and disseminate funding opportunities that align with the University's key strengths and strategic research initiatives.
    5. Assist with the development, writing, editing, and review of institutional proposals, faculty award nominations, or other faculty recruitment applications.
    6. Oversee the Center for Proposal Development and help coordinate grant writer/proposal development staff in Colleges.
    7. Communicate resource needs and leverage resources assigned, collaborating with subject and technical matter experts/consultants as well as administrative leads.
    8. Coordinate federal outreach programs, site visits, conferences, and teleconferences with federal officials to enhance the profile of UTA research.

    Required Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
    2. Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in proposal or other academic/technical writing and/or proposal contract development in government, academia, or industry settings.
    3. Proven experience in designing and executing successful proposal or faculty award/nomination application development strategies.
    4. Self-starter with solid attention to detail.
    5. Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner.
    6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    7. Solid time management and prioritization skills.
    8. Experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
    9. Experience with Adobe applications for PDF creation, conversion, modification.
    10. Expert ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database tools to synthesize and integrate information for highly complex, strategic analysis.
    11. Similar writing or proposal development experience in higher education.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Business development experience with strong research and strategic analysis to cultivate programs, proposals, or organizational structures.
    2. Extensive knowledge, experience, and success in winning captures of large-scale opportunities over $10M.
    3. Knowledge of UT System rules and regulations.
