    About the Department and/or College

    The Accounting Services Research Development Team is seeking an initiative-driven individual who possesses the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, enjoys expressing creative freedom, can work on assigned projects to achieve turnaround goals and deadlines, and has the skills necessary to work in Microsoft Suite programs, Visio, and other design software. This individual should also be comfortable with presentations or is interested in developing their public speaking and presentation skills.

    The Research Development Team within Accounting Services is an innovative team dedicated to completing strategic initiatives for research administration in service to the goals and objectives of Accounting Services and the University.

    Major/Essential Functions

    • Administer comprehensive post-award support of university sponsored projects and collaborate between institutional constituents (primarily principal investigator and college/department staff) to gain efficiencies, enhance information systems, and provide excellent customer service using best practice techniques for managing sponsored projects.
    • Assist with developing and maintaining internal and campus-wide Cognos reports to analyze trends and monitor compliance and performance.
    • Assist in developing and delivering internal and campus-wide training programs for principal investigators, research faculty, department grant administrators and Accounting Services Research staff.
    • Administer assigned Research and Development team projects to achieve turnaround goals and deadlines.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience OR combination of education and experience to equal 5 years.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field.
    • CRA/CPRA/CFRA certificate or eligible candidate.
    • Post-award grant experience including budgeting, invoicing, financial reporting, award set up and award closeout.
    • Experience with Banner, Cognos and Cayuse (or similar financial, reporting and grants management systems).
    • Ability to learn complex information systems and exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
    • Experience preparing and giving presentations.
    • Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication, time management, accounting or analytical procedures, problem-solving, and decision-making.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the institution, which includes advising principal investigators and sponsored programs administration staff.
