    Job Summary

    Position will proactively and strategically support the Vice President for Research Development and Operations (VPRDO) divisional and institutional initiatives and programs.

    This position will interact on a consistent basis with: VPRDO Office management and staff, Vice Presidents, GT staff, and administrators.

    This position typically will advise and counsel: VPRDO Office management and staff, Vice Presidents, GT staff, and administrators.

    Responsibilities

    1. Manage and coordinate multiple initiatives, programs and projects. Manage projects and committees as assigned in support of the VPRDO. Provide project coordination and support for committees, events, and projects as assigned.
    2. Provide general administrative program support, to include scheduling for the VPRDO and Director of Research Operations, travel arrangements, non-travel expenses, file maintenance, document coordination, meeting coordination, budgeting, and procurement activities. As primary office contact, review and resolve complex administrative related questions and issues.
    3. Collect, review, and analyze data for reports, presentations, and correspondence; Maintain data on GT administrative programs and prepare reports and presentations, as necessary. Advise and assist in creating communications, presentations, and reports as directed by the VPs. Research and develop materials in preparation for visits, conferences, meetings, etc.
    4. Represent unit at meetings, functions, and coordinate external visits, as needed. Attend internal and external college, campus, and department meetings and events related to assigned projects and events, general administrative duties, or other staff meetings as scheduled.
    5. Prepare correspondence for the VPRDO; which may include origination of initial drafts, reviewing, proof-reading, editing, and formatting as necessary to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency. Initiate and/or process HR related documentation including hiring packages, posting requests, schedules, and reports. Maintain, update, and monitor departmental files, confidential documents, databases, records and resource information for the VPRDO.
    6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Experience: Five to seven years job related experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Education: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Preferred Experience: Prior experience in higher education and/or research administration, experience managing projects and programs.  Strong written and oral communication skills.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    This job requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail with decision-making skills to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to establish effective working relationships to successfully accomplish objectives. Expert in working independently and in a team environment. Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. Ability to learn and apply new software skills. Excellent customer service skills with proven knowledge of how to work effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external customers.

    Other Information

    Depending on experience, this position will pay between $60,000-$70,000 plus benefits.  GT employees are bound to the GT/USG compensation policy.
