  • 1.  IRB Meeting Agenda

    I'm new to the Human Ethics system and I noticed that the agenda is not populating studies with a decision of "Rely on External IRB." Is there anyone that has encountered this issue and what have you done to work around it?

    Yes – we've also found that decisions of "Rely on External IRB" and "Noted" for incidents do not pull into the tabs showing expedited actions (that appear in the meeting agenda). It's a concern for us because the tabs/meeting agenda is how we share the expedited actions for the IRB to review and it isn't ideal to manually create certain lists. We've shared it with Cayuse but it's not clear whether this is intentional or if there is a plan to make changes.

    We have used the agenda and note section to capture items that are not automatic.

    Can you elaborate on how you capture these items? Do you manually type the submissions into the agenda? If so, you can you explain your process?

    When we rely on another IRB the system is not adding it to the WMU IRB agenda; the other IRB is not recognized. The items are manually added (fortunately, there are few) under agenda.  Notes are used for comments and outcomes on that agenda item.
