Hi all, and Happy Newish Year!

I am currently on a pre-Cayuse Cloud version of the AO software (Bend, I think).  We'll be updated and on the Cloud soon, tho! Maybe this issue will disappear once we are, but I thought I'd check in on others' experiences before I fall prey to this again.

The Full Document Review (FDR) is a convenient feature while reviewing.  Especially on non-initial rounds of review, I like to have the standard review view and the FDR open side-by-side, along with a section-specific Preview of recent Office comments, so that I can easily see what the prior comments where (in the FDR), where they were directed (in the Preview), and how the protocol was revised (standard view).  But even on initial review rounds, I find it helpful to have the FDR and standard views open at the same time, to make it easier to check for and comment on inconsistencies across sections.

Alas, what I have noticed is that if I have entered several footnoted comments in the standard view in one section (let's say Methodology), then go to make a side comment (let's say in Research Agents), it messes with the footnoting feature in Methodology--after saving, the note balloons no longer appear in the text.  When there are multiple comments in a long piece of text, trying to figure out where all the initial notes went, re-entering them, and cutting and pasting the prior notes to the new footnotes poses a real time-waster.  I know this, but still sometimes forget.  It seems like I don't even have to be entering a separate comment in the FDR for this to happen, either--if I'm mid-commenting and open the FDR, it still messes things up.

Does anyone know if this is no longer an issue in modernized versions of the application, or is it something I still need to keep in mind?

    Cheers,

    Cheryl

    Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for this post and for contributing to our community! The product team is aware of the footnote issue with FDR, and we have been working to resolve it. It's great to hear that FDR is a key feature for your program.

Wishing you all the best in the new year,

    Sarah
