    The Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI) is a multidisciplinary, collaborative unit that creates the intellectual, cultural, and physical environment to foster synergy and promote modeling-based research at the University of Idaho. IMCI reports to the Office of Research and Economic Development and works with faculty, students, and staff from multiple colleges. It manages a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence, funded by the National Institutes of Health, along with a portfolio of other grants and awards. It oversees two core facilities: the Modeling Core and the Imaging & Data Access Core.

    The Program Manager and Fiscal Director will actively contribute to the leadership team as the administrative-level decision maker to develop and advance strategic IMCI goals and objectives. This position is self-directed and functions independently to accomplish a wide variety of tasks and is empowered to develop, implement, and manage the administrative policies, procedures, and practices in support of programs and initiatives that are critical to the success of the institute.

    Duties will include:
    • Providing leadership, support, direction, and training by communicating and interacting with staff, faculty, researchers, and students on a frequent and regular basis.
    • Serving as a liaison to the Office of Research and Economic Development, and other University of Idaho administrative units.
    • Advising the Institute Director on financial, administrative and personnel matters using discretion and independent judgement.
    • Management of fiscal processes of the institute including budgeting, compliance, record keeping, forecasting, analyzing, maintaining fund balances, and providing financial reports.
    • Providing institute human resource management in partnership with the IMCI leadership team, Principal Investigators, Human Resources, and the Office of Research and Economic Development.
    • Lead the preparation and submission of sponsored projects and award management functions by working collaboratively with investigators and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
    • Supervising other members of the IMCI administrative staff and oversees all day-to-day IMCI operations.
    • Development of the data collection plan for large federal grants and IMCI reports.
