    Position Summary

    Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York University's Office of Sponsored Programs seeks an experienced Projects Officer/Grants Administrator to join our team.  

     

    The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is NYU's central pre-award research administration office responsible for the review and management of externally funded proposals and awards for a diverse range of federal, state, local, private, and industrial sponsors.

     

    The Projects Officer/Grants Administrator will be responsible for managing a portfolio of investigators and units and providing customer-focused support for:

    • Development and submission of extramural funding proposals
    • Review and processing of incoming sponsored awards
    • Interpretation of funding agency and institutional guidelines governing sponsored programs to ensure institutional compliance

    The Projects Officer/Grants Administrator also provides support for key OSP management functions including oversight of data quality assurance/quality control initiatives (QA/QC) for Cayuse SP (NYU's system of record for sponsored projects) and serves as a Cayuse SP system administrator, technical expert and central contact for system-related questions and issues and oversees communication resources for the office.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree and or equivalent work experience

    Preferred Education:
    Master's Degree

    Required Experience:
    3+ years relevant experience with research administration or an equivalent combination. Must include authoring proposals for funded research and preparing budgets.

    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
    Familiarity with various sponsor and sponsoring agency electronic research administration systems, experience using Cayuse SP and Cayuse 424, an understanding of Uniform Guidance and federal regulatory compliance requirements including conflict of interest, export controls, and research involving animal and humans; possess excellent computer and communication skills; be service oriented; have a sense of humor and energy level conducive to working a deadline-driven environment.

    Must be adaptable, skilled at leveraging influence without authority, energized by change, able to maintain composure with differences of opinion and under deadline pressures, be team-oriented, goal-oriented, and have the ability to simplify, identify priorities and retain a collegial and friendly attitude.
