Under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Director, Research Contracts and Collaborations, the Subaward Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of outgoing subcontracts and sub-agreements executed under the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The Subaward Specialist will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating outgoing federal and non-federal subawards and subcontracts and interpreting terms, conditions, and associated rules and regulations as they apply to negotiating and administering sub-grants as a part of prime contracts and cooperative agreements. This position liaises with internal and external customers, consults with faculty, the Office of Sponsored Programs, and departmental administrative personnel regarding subaward related issues.
The Subaward Specialist is responsible for managing subrecipient monitoring activities, including completion of risk assessments, tracking and collecting audit documents from subrecipients, developing analyses and reports that ensure compliance with mandated requirements relative to subrecipient monitoring, and make recommendations for improvement. This position interfaces with subrecipients and internal auditors, submits certification and reports findings, completes monthly FFATA reporting, maintains subaward templates, oversees subaward policies and procedures, and acts as a backup for the Contract Analyst and Assistant Contract Officer as appropriate and necessary.
