    The University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute (ISI), located in Marina del Rey, California is a major contributor to the nation's information technology knowledge base.  Part of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, ISI is actively engaged in a broad spectrum of information processing research and in the development of advanced computer technologies.  ISI primarily conducts federally sponsored research with annual revenues in excess of $100M. ISI's 400 faculty, professional staff and graduate students carry out extraordinary information sciences research at three distinct locations -- Marina del Rey, CA: Arlington, VA; and Waltham, MA.


    The USC Information Sciences Institute is seeking a Contracts & Grants Administrator III to join its Pre-Award Contracts team.

     

    *This position is located in Marina del Rey, CA. Remote and hybrid work options are available.*

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Preparing proposals including review of agency requirements, budgeting, and coordination with USC offices, customers and subcontractors;
    • Evaluating and negotiating award terms and conditions;
    • Assisting project leaders and administrative staff with contractual compliance and resolution of issues;
    • Entering new award contractual and financial information into database.
    • Assisting with Post-Award coordination as needed.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Related undergraduate degree with three years of contracts and grants administration experience.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study;
    • Four years of demonstrated experience negotiating and administering government FAR/DFAR based contracts or subcontracts;
    • Budget development and proposal preparation experience;
    • Hands-on computer experience with Windows-based application software;
    • Experience with grants and grant terms based on DODGAR's and FDP;
    • Knowledge of export control issues;
    • Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills;
    • Ability to work effectively in a high-energy team environment with a wide variety of technical and administrative personnel; and
    • A results-oriented focus with the demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines.

     

    The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
