The Women’s Cancer Research Center is seeking a qualified Research Technician to work in the field of primary and metastatic breast cancer research. We are seeking candidates with experience in small animal experimentation and tissue culture. Together with senior researchers, the incumbent will be responsible for the breeding, maintenance, and screening of several transgenic mouse lines, as well as the establishment and manipulation of tumor models. Knowledge of mouse anatomy and experience in gross dissection and health monitoring of mice is preferable. Proficiency in tail vein, subcutaneous, cardiac and retro-orbital injection and animal imaging is desirable but not required. Duties will also include developing and maintaining animal models with human specimens for the establishment of patient-derived xenografts. The incumbent will also be responsible for the development of IACUC protocols and working closely with animal facility staff at the Hillman Cancer Center. The incumbent will also participate in a project developing and maintaining patient derived organoids as novel 3D tumor models. Training will be provided for organoid development and culture. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team creating a resource for ILC (Invasive Lobular Cancer) research.
