The University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, IA, is seeking a Director of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Grant Support Office.

The CLAS Grant Support Office, founded in 2018, provides a wide variety of grant- and contract-related support services to the College's many vibrant departments, which encompass the natural and mathematical sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The Grant Support Office Pre-Award team works together with CLAS scientists and scholars to develop strong external research proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies, while the Post-Award team navigates financials and reporting requirements of awarded grants and contracts. The efforts of our dedicated Grant Support Office personnel have helped to double CLAS external funding since 2018, and with their support the College is poised for further growth in its diverse research enterprise.

The Director of the CLAS Grant Support Office will oversee and supervise staff providing fiscal and administrative support in: proposal preparation; budgeting; negotiations; and administration of grant and contract awards across the College. They will also work closely with the CLAS Associate Dean for Research to develop and implement strategic plans for continued growth in external research funding.

This position is open to a remote or hybrid work arrangement within the Iowa City area (persons applying must be willing to relocate to the Iowa City area).
