    Position Summary

    The Targeted Research Coordinator manages the activities required to support the Federal and State targeted research programs and institutes in the College of Forestry (CoF). The incumbent works with the relevant college faculty and staff and serves as a strategic planning resource for research supported via legislative actions and government appropriations. The Coordinator manages the internal award processes for appropriated funds including interpretation of policy and guidance for Forestry's targeted programs and institutes, managing internal funding competitions, identifying budget allocations, monitoring/reporting expenditures, overseeing cost share commitments, and assembling and submitting progress reports. They provide policy review, interpretation and guidance for the College's targeted programs and institutes, coordinating and assisting with all documentation for presentations to stakeholders and legislatures.

    The Coordinator provides comprehensive pre-award backup assistance to the College Director of Sponsored Programs including budget development, communication and collaboration with the central sponsored programs office, assistance with institutional and agency application portals with responsibility for accurate and on-time submission. They maintain an in-depth knowledge of university and granting agency requirements and of proposal and award processes and issues. They work with faculty in identifying and pursing relevant funding opportunities for research, are knowledgeable of the College's research programs and faculty expertise, contributes to the assignment and management of related projects, and serves as a liaison for promoting the target research programs and their impacts.

    The Coordinator reports to the Forestry Director of Sponsored Programs under the direction of the Associate Dean of Research. The position is based on the Corvallis campus with a remote work option available.
