    Hi,

I perused the Help Center to better understand what is retained in Human Ethics; however, could not find any "articles" - are there any?

For federal projects, we Close our studies to show the research is complete and no longer active. Regulations require that project materials be retained for at least 3 years, and at my institution, we keep research records for 5 years after the close of the project.

I noticed in "Submissions by Type" on my dashboard that our Closures have not been counted, nor are these retained in Human Ethics. Closed projects are listed in the report we run, but no accessible record of the submission - am I looking in the wrong place? I understand Withdrawals are not kept, these should not; but, is there a way to get back the Closed studies for auditing and retention purposes? Thanks.

If submission forms are no longer accessible after it's been approved as closed, this is an issue and should be communicated to users (i.e., the Closure article does not specify these submissions are not searchable nor removed).  Additionally, the Help Center does not provide any details on what is retained in Human Ethics. My understanding, given everything is stored in the "cloud" there are no file size limitations.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I really miss the Help feature within Human Ethics and hope the Cayuse Academy is filled up with relevant guidance very soon.

    Dawn

    Hi Dawn,

If I'm understanding your question correctly, then I believe that what you'll need to do is select Archive under the Studies tab. This list includes all studies that have been closed (or withdrawn). Once you click on a study from this list, it takes you to the Study Details section for the study, where you can then access all submissions for that study, including the Closure submission. I don't believe these are ever removed from the system (or at least we have studies that were closed in January 2016 and are still included).

The Submissions by Type "card" includes submissions only for active studies. Once a study is closed/withdrawn, it and all of its submissions can be accessed only via the Archive tab on the Studies search.

    Scott,

THANKS SO MUCH, I found the Closures under the Archive.  However, these are not included in our counts, which prompted my questions.  I am so glad nothing is lost and so very much appreciate your prompt response. :)
