The Support Team for the Administration of Research (STAR) provides growth opportunities within grant and contract portfolio management and reaches into complimentary opportunities to specialize in Export Controls, IRB, and Research Development for example. Our team is inspired by our investigators, students, the variety of science they are conducting, and the opportunity to support often tangible projects that inform the world around us.
The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising a designated team responsible for the management of a prescribed portfolio of sponsored programs activity. The Team Leader will provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to an assigned STAR team, and will have accountability for the quality of unit work, development of standards, prioritization of assignments, and the evaluation of unit output. The Team Leader will be required to participate in the provision of unit services in an effort to maintain efficiency, but the primary function of the position rests in the supervision of team members and the services provided.
The Team Leader will interact with constituents utilizing excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, be collegial and respond in a professional and timely manner, serving as an expert resource to principal investigators, research staff and others in such areas as interpreting policies, regulations and statutes, analyzing needs and resolving complex, rare, and unusual problems as they arise.
