The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD), one of five scientific divisions at Fred Hutch, addresses the growing need for treatment and prevention strategies for infectious diseases worldwide. VIDD's mission is to accelerate knowledge of effective immunity and create innovative approaches that can prevent new infections and treat or cure infection-related diseases. VIDD is comprised of three research programs-Biostatistics, Bioinformatics & Epidemiology (IVD), Immunology & Vaccine Development (IVD), and Infectious Disease Sciences (IDS). Outside of these research programs, VIDD faculty participate in a variety of Fred Hutch interdisciplinary programs.
Global Oncology (GO) is a Fred Hutch-wide international interdisciplinary program that provides collaborative research with a mission to better understand, diagnose and treat infection-related and other high-burden cancers in Uganda. Global Oncology has collaborated with the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI), located in Kampala, for more than a decade to advance research, capacity building, and cancer care in Uganda.
The Research Administration Manager (RAM) I for Interdisciplinary International Research Programs oversees a portfolio of national and international NIH projects, non-federal projects and industry sponsored clinical trials for several VIDD principal investigators. This position works independently and will closely partner with faculty and leadership to manage the full life cycle of sponsored research funding. This position will work with an experienced, fast paced, engaged, inquisitive and highly competent team located in Seattle and Kampala to contribute to the scientific and administrative strategic objectives and mission.
