    ROLE of the POSITION

    The Electronic Research Administration Senior Business Analyst will report to the Executive Director, Office of Sponsored Programs and support the implementation and maintenance of an electronic research administration system at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This position must understand the business needs and objectives of the Office of Sponsored Programs, specifically the work of the pre-award team and the post-award team within the Office of Sponsored Programs, and campus faculty and staff. The Electronic Research Administration Senior Business Analyst will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of eRA initiatives as well as provide user training guides. Accessible materials will be developed for website and faculty and staff digital use. This position will be responsible for understanding the functions and technical capabilities of eRA systems, developing and running testing scripts, understanding the functions and capabilities of the eRA modules and serving to gather requirements and provide analysis through implementation and ongoing support. This position will provide input into testing requirements; collaborate with developers to diagnose functional problems and propose solutions; work with Office of Information Technology, HR, Workday teams, and eRA consultant as needed. The Electronic Research Administration Senior Business Analyst will build a crosswalk from system to system to implement a new eRA system and maintain the historical data.

    This position can work remotely from anywhere in the United States.

    Knowledge:

    •  Basic principles, methods and techniques of computer systems, operations and software specific to eRA.
    • Training principles, concepts and techniques and their practical applications.
    • Principles and practices of research administration.
    • Strategic planning for technology and business processes.  

    Skills:

    • Prepare user training manuals and other supporting materials.
    • Maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders.
    • Effectively communicate technical information and make presentations clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Answer questions and provide meaningful feedback.
    • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses.
    • Excellent customer service skills and a client focused approach.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose a problem and provide technically accurate details and workarounds.

    Preferred:

    • Ability to build customized reports
