    The University of Illinois Chicago's College of Medicine is building a research administration shared service center and currently recruiting for pre- and postaward administrators. On-campus, hybrid and remote work/schedules will be considered. Applications are requested by Feb 24th.


    This position will provide comprehensive preaward grants and contracts assistance to assigned Principal Investigators (PIs) in participating clinical departments in the College of Medicine. The PreAward Administrator will provide technical and financial expertise to PIs and departmental/project staff to ensure the accuracy of grant and contract proposals, awards, and agreements. Duties include:

    • Collaborate with researchers and staff to develop and submit proposals for external funding; serve as liaison between grant and contract agencies and researchers seeking funding to support their activities.
    • Monitor changes in Federal and state legislation relative to grant and contract opportunities; make information available to researchers involved in sponsored activities.
    • Prepare proposal budgets; provide proposal checklists and templates; request, collect and format proposal documents; and ensure adherence to sponsor guidelines and internal policies, procedures and deadlines.
    • Internally route all submissions through the relevant departments, colleges/schools, and the Office of Sponsored Programs for appropriate approvals.
    • Assist researchers at the time of award by providing revised or missing information to the sponsor, fulfilling "just-in-time" requests, and resolving issues relative to awards and agreement set-up.
    • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
