Job Summary: The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) Research Advancement (RA) Team is looking for an individual interested in making a difference in the world by directly supporting researchers who are making globally impactful advances in research, and is seeking a career with various opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of assisting university faculty with the development, preparation, and submission of sponsored project proposals to various funding agencies. In this role the candidate would not be responsible for technical content, rather they would be supporting faculty in the administrative aspects of proposal development and submission.
Essential Duties
- Provides administrative guidance and counsel during pre-submission, development, and administrative review.
- Independently reviews funding announcements and provides guidance on eligibility and sponsor requirements to investigators.
- Provides support in document management and in the uploading of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. (i.e., current and pending support, biosketches, etc.)
- Verifies and ensures ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory and financial compliance requirements.
- Contacts sponsors for clarification of application guidelines.
- Assists with post submission action items requested by the sponsor such as just-in-time requests, revised budgets, scope of work changes, and additional certifications.
- Develops budgets and budget narratives in conjunction with investigator provided information and sponsor guidelines.
