The primary role of the Grant Specialist is to provide research administration support to Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance (SPARC) post-award Grant Officers and SPARC leadership.
This is a developmental position that includes mentoring and training under the direction of grant officers and SPARC leadership. The Grant Specialist will be tasked with working closely with SPARC grant officer, faculty and staff from assigned departments, with various administrative departments involved in submitting proposals and administering funds with external institutions (sponsors, subrecipients, pass-through entities, etc.). This position will also be tasked with independent projects with multi-step processes that have significant scope and consequence to university customers and vendors and may be asked to support the pre-award team and other research committees and workgroups during peak seasons and as needed.
