Job Summary<o:p></o:p>
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) in the School of Public Health at University of Michigan is looking for an experienced and dynamic Research Administrator to join our administrative team where you will contribute to a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment. You will support a vibrant and diverse academic community of faculty, staff, research fellows and students. You will be responsible for post-award research and other financial responsibilities for a subset of faculty with EHS. You will report to the Department Administrator. This is a hybrid position, based in Ann Arbor, eligible for both remote and on-campus working. If hired, you will receive a signing bonus of $1500.<o:p></o:p>
Responsibilities<o:p></o:p>
-Independently reconcile accounts across sponsored research, cost share and general funds using MReports, Business Objects, and other tools to ensure appropriate use of funds. Prepare monthly reports with revenue, encumbrance and projected balance.<o:p></o:p>
-Set up new awards including sub-PG requests, subcontracts, consulting agreements with cost share accounts.<o:p></o:p>
-Compile financial information to process transactions such as budget reallocations, personnel change requests (PAR), journal entries and vouchers.<o:p></o:p>
-Create and process post-award change requests i.e., carryforward requests, no cost extensions.<o:p></o:p>
-Manage standard reports and requests for financial information from sponsors and other units.<o:p></o:p>
-Perform required project closeout actions including review and resolutions UG (uniformed guidance_ and FSR (financial status) reports. Monitor personnel project effort following university and sponsor policies.<o:p></o:p>
-Help with other support documents and progress report projections. <o:p></o:p>
-Interpret and ensure ethical adherence to University, federal and other support sponsor policies. <o:p></o:p>
-Investigate and resolve problems while working with the SSC on financial matters.<o:p></o:p>
-Be the backup for pre-award faculty proposal admissions.<o:p></o:p>
Required Qualifications<o:p></o:p>
-Bachelor's degree or the equivalents combination of education and experience<o:p></o:p>
-5+ years of progressively responsible financial and research-related experience, both pre- and posy-award.<o:p></o:p>
-Knowledge of federal funding guidelines and sponsor systems such as grants.gov<o:p></o:p>
-Competent in developing reports along with experience in transactional processing of general financial activities.<o:p></o:p>
-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.<o:p></o:p>
-Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.<o:p></o:p>
-Expert proficiency in using MPathways systems or similar budgeting and reporting platforms.<o:p></o:p>
Intermediate level<o:p></o:p>
-3-5 years of progressively responsible financial and research-related experience, both pre- and post-award. <o:p></o:p>
Underfill Statement<o:p></o:p>
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The salary offered will commensurate with level of position. There are two levels possible--Intermediate and Senior. <o:p></o:p>
Intermediate: $56,030 - $69,213<o:p></o:p>
Senior: $65,759 - $77,363<o:p></o:p>
