    Purdue University Sponsored Program Services (SPS) has a new position available - Faculty Training Specialist (Requisition ID 24747).    This position will be assigned to the Research Quality Assurance (RQA) department of SPS.  RQA provides services to the research community by reviewing, maintaining and updating research related processes and procedures, developing best practice documentation and coordinating audit responses.  This team focuses on financial compliance and partners with the Executive Vice President for Research to provide comprehensive training and reviews of the University's sponsored program activities.<o:p></o:p>

    Job Summary<o:p></o:p>

    The Faculty Training Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training and education program for principal investigators and scientific researchers. This position will work with subject matter experts to develop, deliver, and maintain in-person and interactive virtual research administrations training activities and electronic resource materials. The Faculty Training Specialist will also conduct needs assessments, coordinate scheduling of training courses and instructor, and manage registrations and feedback from training resources and courses.<o:p></o:p>


    Duties & Responsibilities<o:p></o:p>

    • Use instructional design methodology to develop and implement comprehensive training and education programs for Sponsored Program Services, departmental research administrators, and Regulatory and Compliance administrators.<o:p></o:p>
    • Work with subject matter experts to develop, deliver, and maintain in-person and interactive virtual research administration workshops and electronic resource materials. <o:p></o:p>
    • Document processes, roles, and responsibilities.<o:p></o:p>
    • Conduct needs assessments to determine research administration training/education needs.<o:p></o:p>
    • Evaluate effectiveness of training opportunities and materials.<o:p></o:p>
    • Coordinate scheduling of training classes and instructors; manage and monitor training registration and completion in the learning management system.<o:p></o:p>
    • Maintain a centralized repository of standard operations procedures, job aids, training material, and an online library of training material by managing updates and changes from content experts to ensure all material available is up to date.<o:p></o:p>

    Qualifications<o:p></o:p>

    Required:<o:p></o:p>

    • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field<o:p></o:p>
    • Two (2) years of experience in the   development and design of training materials, training facilitation, instructional design, curriculum design, or related field<o:p></o:p>
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.<o:p></o:p>
    • Working knowledge of planning, developing, delivery, and evaluation of training and development programs.<o:p></o:p>
    • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).<o:p></o:p>
    • Skilled in using ichnology to support learning programs and outcomes, including but not limited to Microsoft products, learning management systems, course registrations systems, course development software, web content editing software, video and audio software creation systems.<o:p></o:p>
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills ability to work closely with others as a team member.<o:p></o:p>
    • Ability to think creatively to design new approaches to increase and improve the speed, quality, and retention of employee's learning.<o:p></o:p>
    • Ability to work independently delivering results on a schedule and within scope.<o:p></o:p>
    • Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.<o:p></o:p>
    • Project management, organizational, and presentation skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.<o:p></o:p>
    • Ability to work in an environment that requires adaptability, independent management of competing demands, and adjustments to frequent change while staying professional and positive.<o:p></o:p>
    • Extensive working knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology, including developing digital media and online content for training and course delivery.<o:p></o:p>
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.<o:p></o:p>
    • Commitment to diversity.<o:p></o:p>

    Preferred:<o:p></o:p>

    • Research Administration experience in finance or regulatory and compliance fields.<o:p></o:p>
    • Experience with content design software (instructional, graphic, web, and video).<o:p></o:p>
    • Research administration or related higher education experience.<o:p></o:p>
    • Knowledge of process improvement or project management methods such as RACI, Agile, etc.<o:p></o:p>

    While Purdue University is located in West Lafayette, Indiana.  This position is a hybrid position with 75% remote and 25% on site.<o:p></o:p>
