Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Supervises assigned staff and oversees the financial and accounting administration of grants and contracts accounts awarded by federal, corporate, state, and municipal sources. Creates financial reports, invoices, statements, and analyzes expenditures for compliance with budget, policies, and guidelines; coordinates the correction and adjustment of entries; reviews and approves entries and reconciles accounting information to the approved budget.
Responsibilities
1. Manages and supervises post-award functions in the Office of Sponsored Programs
2. Fosters a cohesive team that works collaboratively to achieve the unit's goals
3. Oversees the recruitment, performance, mentoring, and training of team members
4. Directs and develops work process improvements to meet critical timelines, sponsor expectations, and reporting requirements
5. Leads important Sponsored Programs initiatives
6. Assists with the development and implementation of campus-level and business processes related to research administration, in collaboration with Office of Research and University stakeholders
7. Demonstrates leadership by providing oversight, guidance, and technical expertise on complex post-award sponsored project compliance matters
8. Serves on appropriate University committees as required
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
None
Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience in the management and/or administration of externally sponsored activity within a university setting, including designation as certified research administrator.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Research Administrator (CRA) strongly preferred: demonstrated equivalent knowledge acceptable
Experience with a non-profit institutions or hospitals is acceptable
Experience with Cayuse a plus
Experience using electronic grants management systems
Experience using project management software to organize workflow a plus
Experience with Access and PowerPoint a plus
