    Location

    Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for assisting with proposal development and submission as part of the Sponsored Programs (Office of Research) pre-award team. Serve as university signing authority for proposals and assist with award negotiation and acceptance. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Build and maintain partnering relationships with internal stakeholders and other operational departments.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide advice to faculty and staff regarding grant-seeking at Kennesaw State University

    2. Assist faculty in all phases of the development of grant and contract proposals, including detailed budgets, while ensuring compliance with all sponsor guidelines and KSU Human Resources, fiscal, and procurement policies

    3. Prepare checklists and timelines for proposals

    4. Submit proposals to sponsors using multiple electronic submission portals, including Cayuse (KSU's grants management system), FastLane/Research.gov, Assist, and grants.gov

    5. Review proposal documents uploaded by colleagues prior to submission to ensure high quality standards are maintained throughout proposal process

    6. Prepare templates and guides for faculty and staff seeking grant funding

    7. Contribute to Sponsored Programs website to ensure it is user-friendly, has useful information, and is up to date

    8. Interact regularly with and provide superior support and service to faculty and staff seeking sponsored funding

    9. Review award documentation, draft contracts and subawards, and obtain university approvals prior to signature

    10. Review budget and award terms and conditions, and process awards through Cayuse, preparing all transmittal documents

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

    Required Experience
    Three (3) years of experience in developing and submitting grant and contract proposals, preferably for an institution of higher education
    Experience with a non-profit institution or hospital is acceptable
    Experience with Cayuse a plus
    Experience using electronic systems, including FastLane/Research.gov, Assist, and grants.gov to submit grant/contract proposals required

    Preferred Qualifications

    Additional Preferred Qualifications
    Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CPRA) strongly preferred; demonstrated equivalent knowledge acceptable

    Preferred Experience
    Experience using electronic grants management systems
    Experience using project management software to organize workflow a plus
    Experience with Access and PowerPoint a plus

    ABILITIES
    Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

    KNOWLEDGE
    Knowledge of federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200) required

    SKILLS
    Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
    Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
    Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
    Desire and ability to provide outstanding service to faculty and staff
    Professional phone and e-mail etiquette
