    Summary:

    The Director of Research and Grants Administration, reporting to the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies is responsible for managing and overseeing the college's administrative research functions.  Responsibilities include managing the internal research grant process, assisting faculty in locating research opportunities, reviewing grant proposals to meet sponsor guidelines, developing grant budgets, monitoring grant account expenses, closing out projects, and managing Research Office staff.  The Director of Grants Management ensures adherence to grant agency and foundation policies and is responsible for staying abreast of current/changing policies and regulations.  They will serve as the primary contact person to resolve matters in cooperation with the Grants Management Dept. and Research Accounting Services, including budget preparation and proposal submission for multi-institutional and multi-collegial grant proposals. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree and at least five years of directly related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Required Skills & Abilities:

    *Demonstrated ability managing department and sub-unit grant proposals.

    *Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement strategic plans.

    *Knowledge of data management software and practices to submit timely, accurate reports on graduate student funding.

    *Knowledge of multiple funding agencies.

    *Knowledge of grant and financial management software.

    *Knowledge of University systems including ERA, ERS, and Banner Finance.

    *Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks and time constraints.

    *Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

    *Demonstrated ability to recommend grant management strategies for departments.

    *Demonstrated ability to manage and train faculty and staff.

    *Demonstrated ability to adhere to current and changing granting agency policies and regulations.

    *Strong verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff in a professional manner.

    Preferred:

    *Master's degree

    This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
