    This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days onsite in downtown Manhattan

    Position Summary

    The Assistant Director, Research Integrity supports the Senior Director, Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) in Research Operations in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR). The Assistant Director/Research Integrity, along with the HRPP Director, and the COI Manager will be a member of the RIC senior leadership team. This position is responsible for the management and implementation of the annual Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) program, which consists of an online curriculum and live sessions. Other responsibilities include supporting the Senior Director/Research Integrity Officer with developing and maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures and investigating allegations of research misconduct and advising on authorship disputes and other questionable research practices. The Research Integrity Manager will work collaboratively with other offices at WSQ such as OSP, TOV, OGC, Information Security, and OCRM. and NYU portal campuses (NYUSH, NYUAD) to help support RCR and research integrity programs and policy development and updates.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree

    Preferred Education:
    Master's Degree and/or JD

    Required Experience:
    5+ years in research administration, integrity, or compliance in an academic research and/or biomedical institution.

    Preferred Experience:
    5+ years Extensive experience with academic research and/or laboratory administration including but not exclusive to in-depth knowledge of Sponsored Research Administration including government regulatory compliance requirements and implementation for funded projects as mandated by the federal government; ability to articulate policy to members of the internal and external community. Experience in supporting research misconduct investigations.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Adobe professional applications • Familiarity with setting up and running Zoom and other online meeting applications • Familiarity with RCR/Research Integrity training programs, norms, and regulations • Ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Experience developing, administering, and presenting workshops and other programs strongly preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively manage multiple priorities. Working knowledge of research compliance review functions (e.g., IRB, IACUC, IBC, EHS, Research Security, COI, etc.)
