We have double perforated cage cards, which we purchased through Allentown, Inc. They were fantastic to work with... and we went through a few rounds of prototyping before we got the cardstock in the proper format. I'm sure they are working with another vendor to produce the cardstock, but I have no idea of their identity.... everything we get has Allentown, Inc... all over it.
We have solid metal cage card holders, so we had a local metal fabricator remove a section at the top of the cage card holder to provide a space for the RFID antennas to resonate. We then worked with Allentown to design a double perforated cage card where the RFID antennas would be placed at the top of the card, away from the remaining metal of the cage card holder. I've included images that show how we modified the holders and the antenna placement on the cardstock. I've also included an example of the layout design provided to Allentown for card layout and antenna layout(yellow card image)... and then lastly a scanned version of the final procuded card (grey card image)
Here's a video of our cards - in use : https://youtu.be/ZRCOVMtv1Pg
We activate/deactivate with barcode for accuracy, then count active cards in the facility with RFID.

Subject: Vivarium Operations: Cage Card Paper?
What manufacturer or printing paper company do you purchase from for your cage cards?
We are still in the implementation phase of AOPs at our institution and we are in the process of purchasing cage card paper but don't know where we can buy them. Our current approved supplier at our institution only has standard stock paper with no perforation. We want the paper to come with the perforation at the top and at the bottom. See examples below.
The Zebra printer that we are purchasing is the ZD421 4-INCH DESKTOP PRINTERS.
This example has the tear-off strip at the top and the bottom of the cage card. Any input will help us. Thank you.
