We sit in a strange place between SBER and BioMedical and 95% of our submissions are for doctoral student-initiated projects. I'm not sure how helpful ours will be to you, but you are welcome to it.
One thing I found very helpful when we transitioned a year ago (build July/Aug, go live September) was to take our existing application and "map" it out to the kinds of objects (radio button, checklist, etc) each question would require. My fabulous IRB Analyst also made a Sections link map as we planned our design/build. The attached is no longer current, but it gives you the idea.
