    Job Summary
    The Senior Financial Analyst, Grants Administration is responsible for managing contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, confidentiality agreements, data use agreements, other outside funding activities, and assigned projects including sponsor and grant deliverables. Participates in the development of grant applications and grant budgets, coordination of grant proposal development and submission, and assisting scientists, investigators, program/project managers, and directors with grant award processing. The Senior Financial Analyst assumes complex assignments and is a resource for other grant analyst staff.

    Essential Functions:

    • Pre-Award: Works with internal and external stakeholders to submit proposals timely and accurately. Provides expert guidance throughout the application process, relying on past application experience, has the ability to quickly identify areas that require sponsor clarification, as well as identify and resolve areas that deviate from standard Denver Health practice and would require special considerations in order to accomplish project objectives and/or sponsor requirements. Provides support to grant analysts and assigned Denver Health departments throughout the reviewing and analyzing of proposals and applications for sponsored programs and research. Develops and/or assist in the development of complex budgets. Completes administrative sections of grant proposal, following application instructions and guidelines. Guides and assists with electronic grant submissions. (25%)
    • Post-Award: Achieves a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the grant process once it has been awarded. Including approval of expenses and reporting requirements. Coordinates and assists in the preparation of reports for timely submission. Analyzes and addresses all budgetary, accounting, billing and payment concerns. Completes reconciliations of financial data. Reconciliations can be complex in nature. Researches, analyzes and reconciles grant projects on a timely basis, maintaining supporting documentation. (25%)
    • Compliance: Maintains compliance with regard to rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures in accordance with 2 CFR 200, 45 CFR Part 75, and sponsor specific requirements. Ensures compliance with sponsor regulations and RFP guidelines, and Denver Health policies and procedures. Interprets and communicate to department and DH research staff sponsor guidance and requirements. Reviews IRB protocol submissions to ensure compliance with 45 CFR Part 46 and Denver Health policies and procedures. (25%)
    • Assist leadership with special projects and/or tasks, as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to: • Leading and taking responsibility for following through on key initiatives. • Assuming responsibility for more complex and difficult assignments. • Participating in identification and opportunities for process improvement • Assisting with onboarding and training for new hires as needed for departmental success. (15%)
    • Customer Service: Manages expectations and contributions of key stakeholders. Exercises tact, diplomacy and discretion in verbal and written communication to assigned departments, sponsors and Denver Health personnel as applicable. Maintains a positive attitude and assist leadership in maintaining morale and a cohesive team. (10%)


    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree ` Required


    Work Experience:

    • 4-6 years 4-6 years of experience working with federal grants and contracts, which includes working knowledge of federal, state, and sponsor regulations and guidelines. Required


    Licenses:

    • CRA-Certified Research Administrator - RACC - Research Administrators Certification Council Required or
    • CCRP-Clinical Research Professional - SOCRA - Society of Clinical Research Associates Required


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to work accurately and attend to details.
    • Demonstrated in-depth expertise in all aspects of grants management including but not limited to; methods and procedures relative to grant applications, funding, and regulations. Experience with grants.gov application submission process, as well as other electronic application platforms.
    • Must be detail oriented and have solid organizational and time management skills to be able to work in a high volume, high demand setting.
    • Ability to work independently and coordinate several activities at a time with accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Interpersonal Skills - Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation, concern, and politeness to others and relates well to different people from varied backgrounds and different situations. Must be able to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization.
    • Reading - Understands and interprets written material, including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to stay up-to-date technically, conceptually, and methodologically and apply new knowledge to the job.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure and time constraints.

    $78,802.00 - $118,203.00 / yr
