Munson Healthcare is a seven hospital rural system and this is a unique position in the system. The pay range is $64k to $92k.     SUMMARY

    The Grants Officer for Munson Healthcare seeks and applies for federal, state and other public and foundation grants to benefit various programs and services of the System. The Officer works with hospital leadership to develop compelling proposals and then writes and manages grant reports to ensure that MHC adheres to grant terms. The Grants Officer is responsible for all grants management and oversight functions related to 2 CFR part 200, ensuring that federal grants awarded to Munson Healthcare entities are carried out in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or Business Administration. Master's degree preferred.
    • At least 4 years' experience with grant writing and/or grants management.
    • Demonstrated success in securing and administering large, multi-year public grant project resulting in a new programs or initiatives.
    • Must be exceptionally organized to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgement.
    • Knowledge of grant proposal process, programs and grants administration policies and procedures including knowledge of the federal regulations and guidelines that govern the conduct of federal grants including 2 CFR Part 200.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clinical team members, leadership, and partners at outside organizations.
    • Willingness to make presentations to various leadership groups within organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to successfully manage competing demands.
    • Proficient with standard software used in an office setting-ability to learn new systems.

    ORGANIZATION

    This position will report both to the Chief Development Officer and the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs at Munson Healthcare and work directly with various health care leaders within Munson Healthcare.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES
    1. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.
    2. Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare.
    3. Promotes personal and patient safety.
    4. Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
    5. Administers all activities related to identifying, defining, developing, analyzing and monitoring federal, state, and private foundation grant related funding to support existing and planned program activities within Munson Healthcare. 
    6. Manages pre- and post-award activities for all Munson Healthcare entities including seven owned hospitals, home health and hospice, rural health clinics, ambulatory practices, etc..
    7. Coordinates and drafts grant applications and proposals, edits/compiles and submits progress and final reports.
    8. Manages and nurtures relationships as appropriate with representatives of private foundations, leaders throughout Munson Healthcare and community partner organizations.
    9. Works closely with the Accounting Coordinator and project leads to manage grant funds; provides guidance to project leads on tracking expenditures and troubleshoots grant expenditure issues.
    10. Coordinates with team members across the health system to ensure integrity of financial transactions and contractual agreements and ensures all grant activities are compliant with 2 CFR (procurement rules, allowable expenses, subaward/contractual arrangements, etc.).
    11. Prepares compelling grant requests and applications as a result of collaborative team input.
    12. Maintains all regulatory, legal, and corporate compliance standards as applicable, including established timelines, and provides supplemental or ancillary information as needed.
    13. Makes presentations to various groups.
    14. Prepares data and summary reports as needed to both internal and external stakeholders.
    15. Assists in developing policies and procedures to maintain best practice regarding securing and disbursing grant funds.
    16. Tracks Time and Effort certifications for staff with salary support from federal grants.
    17. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
