Good day and happy Friday!  Is anyone planning to use Cayuse to capture information regarding the Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors?  Are you able/planning to use Cayuse to administer, track, create reports related to this new hoop to jump through?  If so, what's your plan, ideas for a plan, or are you using something else other than Cayuse?

Great question, Audrey. We don't have any contracts, thank goodness!  I'm also hooping the EO requirement goes away given the many lawsuits pending.

I'm not super-sure I'm getting at your questions.  BUT, we flagged the heck out of COVID-related proposals and awards.  The ones that got the most uses were COVID-related project and COVID-related closure (when COVID just swamped the data the PI had intended to collect and the work could not proceed).  But I think that's not likely to be useful for compliance with the EO. We also flag federal contracts so that we can monitor the FAR clauses.  These latter ones are the ones triggering the need to comply with the EO.  We also used Cayuse on the post-award side to monitor PIs safety plans as labs re-opened in Michigan.  So, it seems like we could use the intersection of these things to track implementation of the requirements of the EO.  You know....maybe.... if the stars align.

    This is a great question!

We do get some state contracts that are pass through funds, so we may be impacted.  I'll be interested in how others plan to track and monitor as well.

And then there's that age-old problem of the instances where the prime awardee doesn't inform you that the funds are federal (until it's time to set up the award, if at all) and the challenges of getting copies of the NoA from the state pass through entity to be sure you know the type of agreement and terms and conditions....
