Good afternoon!  Does anyone have a compliance position that deals with the usual compliance topics but is also involved in coordinating IRB, not just offering training as part of compliance?  Does that person manage the Human Subjects module in Cayuse as well as other compliance-related modules?

Audrey,

I manage the compliance areas at American - IRB, IACUC, and IBC.   For compliance matters use Cayuse only for IRB, and our OSP uses SP and 424.   We use another product to manage IACUC, and our IBC portfolio is so small that we just use a simple spreadsheet and network folders.   I am the only administrator for Human Ethics, and have admin rights in 424 to add new users.  I also have a part time grad assistant who has analyst rights and can add users.

At my small institution, I play an all-in-one role i.e., I direct the work of the IRB, manage the human ethics module, and partner with owners of other requirements including General Counsel, Information Security & Compliance, R&D Administration, and Human Resources to provide standard operating procedures for staff.
