    Hello all,

I'm wondering whether there is a single report that can be run, perhaps in ACCOORD role, in order to come up with the details needed to calculate the average daily census for a given period?

For calculating an average daily census for a given year, what I typically do is run 12 separate Cage Reports, picking a given day per month (e.g., the 15th), and export each as an Excel file,.  For each of the 12 files, I sum the active count by species, then across files I sum the the 12 active counts per species, then divide each of those sums by 12 to get an average per species for the year.  I'm hopeful there's an easier way that someone has figured out and is willing to share.

    Cheers,
    Cheryl

    Hi Cheryl,

I know you already spoke to some Cayuse staff about this, but I wanted to close the loop here that there isn't currently a report to do this.

If you or anyone else would like to submit it as a product idea, though, please go right ahead. Other customers can vote on whether they also would like this report and the ideas get reviewed quarterly by Cayuse.

    Thanks!

    Simon

We've discussed similar ideas with our previous Vivarium Software and also with how we would perform similar reports within Cayuse.

I think there is some tremendous value in utilizing the static "closed" billing cycle data to generate an index of careday reports to assist with decision-making in the future.  For us, since the "closed" billing cycle data is locked/static - we were comfortable to with creating a daily process to capture the caredays snapshot of the entire facility. We could then use those datapoints to do a lot of comparative views - weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly "to-date" comparisons or other historical  comparisons & trending reports. You could also use the same data to generate "available capacity vs use" heatmaps and other facility overlays.

We're currently looking at ways to render these views with a powerful data-visualization app like Tableau.
