  • 1.  Product Manager - how to oversee ESirus application

    Hello,
I realize that most of the folks in this group are Cayuse so hopefully you know how customers manage this and could share.
We currently use the husbandry, vet services and billing modules only (we don't use Cayuse for IACUC) and we don't have a central person managing the application so it is piecemealed out by module. I am trying to figure out how other large UNIVERSITIES approach managing the Animal Operations (eSirius) application.  Specifically, do they have a central product manager who handles call tickets, various issues that arise in all modules, customizations, understanding how the modules work together and are connected to each other (if something "breaks" in one module, how will it effect other functions), staying current on technology, networking with others, etc.?  Or is the de-centralized management the norm (having content specialists handle their module)?
    Thanks,
    Susan

    Susan,

For our vivarium operations modules we have a central point person who relays the issues to our Cayuse service contact.   I think it would be too difficult to have it spread across vet services, finances, administration, etc...

I think we are probably more of a medium operation currently (23,000 cages) but we are spread across several different buildings so having a focal point for issues and expertise makes life easier.

    Thanks,
    Lorraine
