    The School of Public Health (SPH) - Office of Research and Sponsored Projects is seeking a Grants and Contracts Officer III.

    This position is responsible for working with faculty, staff, and students on the successful administration of externally funded projects, within an assigned department in the School of Public Health (SPH). This position is a post-award administrative position and will work closely with SPH's Finance Team, as well as Georgia State's central Office of Sponsored Proposals and Awards (OSPA).

    Day to Day Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Mentors and guides junior staff.
    • Guides faculty, providing support and information needed for them to make decisions regarding their budgets, deliverables, payment schedules, and overall project management.
    • Interprets federal, state, and private sponsor guidelines and regulations.
    • Interprets individual project award terms and conditions.
    • Reviews invoices and purchases to determine the allowability of purchases made on sponsored accounts.
    • Coordinates award setup to include: initiating payroll transactions, reviewing awards and budgets for accuracy, obtaining protocol approvals (IRB, IACUC, etc.), establishing subagreements and cost share accounts, as appropriate.
    • Ongoing post-award monitoring to include: expenditure reviews, payroll monitoring on sponsored accounts, no-cost extensions, sponsor prior approval requests, budget re-alignments, and journal entries, as appropriate.
    • Prepares spending projections on sponsored accounts for faculty, as requested.
    • Provides and calculates unobligated balances on sponsored accounts.
    • Assists faculty with the preparation and submission of annual and final progress reports.
    • Coordinates account closeout with OSPA.
    • Pre-reviews annual effort certification for assigned department individuals paid on sponsored accounts.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

    Location: Atlanta Campus 

    Hiring Range: $60,000 - $75,000 

    Pay Grade: 16 

    FLSA Status: Exempt 

    Job Type: Full Time (Benefits Eligible) 

    Preferred Hiring Qualifications: Research Administration (post-award) experience strongly preferred.  CRA, CPRA, and/or CFRA certifications preferred.  University research administration experience is further preferred.
