Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit, unified adult cancer care and research center that is clinically integrated with UW Medicine, a world leader in clinical care, research and learning. The first National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in the Pacific Northwest, Fred Hutch's global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy, and COVID-19 vaccines has confirmed our reputation as one of the world's leading cancer, infectious disease and biomedical research centers. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy, and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states. Together, our fully integrated research and clinical care teams seek to discover new cures to the world's deadliest diseases and make life beyond cancer a reality.
At Fred Hutch, we believe that the innovation, collaboration, and rigor that result from diversity and inclusion are critical to our mission of eliminating cancer and related diseases. We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems. Fred Hutch is in pursuit of becoming an antiracist organization. We are committed to ensuring that all candidates hired share our commitment to diversity, antiracism, and inclusion.
The Basic Sciences Division at Fred Hutch is seeking an experienced Research Administrator (RA) to join our team of Research Administrators (RA level III or IV depending on experience). We seek someone with administrative experience in pre- and post-award grant and contract administration to facilitate the work of our preeminent scientists. The position serves as a liaison between assigned faculty and the Fred Hutch central administrative departments and as such has an opportunity to provide a broad array of administrative support functions. The RA supports and ensures compliant and effective funding, budget and regulatory administration and general administrative support for one or several Principal Investigators and their labs. The RA collaborates with Principal Investigators and their lab members and interfaces with other departments as needed to complete job responsibilities. The RA works autonomously to complete nonscientific grant content and tasks, facilitate human resource activities for the laboratories, advises the PIs on relevant matters and develops effective solutions to administrative issues but is also part of a team of colleagues performing similar duties. We seek someone with skills in research administration as well as strong organizational skills, an interest in continuous learning, a sense of humor and a desire to work in a supportive and collegial community.
This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.
