    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an accomplished and experienced individual to join us and to serve in the critically important role of Deputy Director, Conflict of Interest Program.

     

    The Deputy Director of the Conflict of Interest (COI) Program reports to the Conflict of Interest (COI) Officer/Director of the COI Program. In conjunction with the COI Officer and other COI staff, this position administers campus-wide compliance initiatives that support the University's extensive sponsored research program. Working with the COI Officer/Director, this position's primary responsibility is the management of an effective university-wide COI Program to detect, evaluate, manage and monitor conflicts of interest (COI), associated with the $1.2 billion research portfolio and the conduct of University business.

     

    The Deputy Director will manage daily operations of the Conflict of Interest Program, including supervision of the four COI Analysts, participating in key elements of the monitoring process for our entrepreneurial faculty and ensuring the flow of the conflict of interest review process, with a focus on research. At the UNC-Chapel Hill, the COI Program is centralized and covers all units, including our School of Medicine.  The Deputy Director will work with various campus colleagues, including but not limited to Office of Technology and Commercialization,  Office of Sponsored Research and Office of Human Research Ethics to ensure timely processing and compliance with the University COI Policy.
