Grants and Contracts Specialists work in a collaborative manner with assigned TTUHSC department faculty and staff to coordinate and administer the submission of grant applications and contract proposals to various funding agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary source of expertise for federal applications for the assigned campus/schools.
- Conduct institutional review of grant applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with institutional policies and procedures and sponsor guidelines.
- Uses applicable TTUHSC information systems (e.g. Cognos, Cayuse) to access data relevant to grant applications and accounts.
- Assist and coordinate with Accounting Services for the appropriate management of grant accounts.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support faculty/staff for pre-award and non-financial post-award issues.
- Maintain expertise in university and federal regulations, sponsor policies, and electronic proposal submission development.
- Maintain auditable records for sponsored awards, including proposal and award documents, reports, and sponsor and internal correspondence.
- Prepares outgoing subaward agreements and reviews incoming subaward agreements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Three (3) years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience related to grants and contracts administration
- Experience in medical institution
- Knowledge of federal funding administration (2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance)
