Howdy! Me again with more NSF/Proposals (S2S) questions! :)

Todays CAREER proposals deadlines has been extended because of system issues with Research.gov. We have a number of proposals being submitted to NSF via Proposals (S2S). The current closing date for packages is today.

My question: how will this affect our Grants.gov submissions? Will we still be able to submit, even though the package close date as passed (I really don't see NSF updating their Grants.gov package...)? Will we need to move our progress from Proposals (S2S) to Research.gov/FastLane?

    Thank you!!
    Lyndal

Great question, @Lyndal Arceneaux, and I hope the research.gov issues haven't been adding too much stress to your day.

I asked my new colleague @Ed Calimag your question and he had this to say:

The S2S interface between NSF and grants.gov may be having issues, but as long as they're submitted via Proposals and they have the Grants.gov ID and date time stamp, they should be good. The onus is on NSF to retrieve the applications from grants.gov.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any follow up questions!

Thanks, Simon! I suppose my follow up question is will the submissions even get out of Proposals if the close date on the package has passed?

You should be good! @Ed Calimag had a great analogy, calling grants.gov a post office. Proposals will still get sent there, then NSF can come pick them up.
